Approach

We at Sapling Design, don’t believe in applying the same processes for every client and project, whether it needs them or not. We work closely with the stakeholders to understand context thoroughly and then recommend the required processes.

Every successful design should fulfill the users’ functional and emotional needs as well as business needs, making an optimal use of technology to achieve this. A good design is thus desirable, viable and feasible. However most projects are executed considering only the business and technical needs, almost ignoring the user, more often than not, resulting in failure.

To avoid this, whatever processes are followed, every problem goes through 4 phases that we call 4D :

  • D1 – Discover – Understand the stakeholders’, users’, technical and domain requirements and gather information necessary to define the functionality and features of the application, product or website.
  • D2 – Define – Share the findings from earlier phase with the clients and stakeholders to define the strategy and scope of the next stage – Design.
  • D3 – Design – The actual design starting with work-flow engineering and screen specs as the output, in case of Interface and Web design.
  • D4 – Develop – Knowledge transfer and design support for the client’s development team till the development effort is complete.
